Oslo, Norway – November 4, 2025 – Aloft®, the relaxing sandbox survival game set in a world of floating islands, has just expanded with the Bloom & Blight Update, its biggest Early Access update yet. Developers Astrolabe® Interactive Inc. have pulled out all the stops, revamping and streamlining almost every feature in the game to enhance the sense of purpose and discovery. The improved world generation provides a stronger and more flexible foundation on which to grow Aloft in future updates. The result is a denser world with more rewarding exploration as you fly from island to island, uncovering ancient ruins, collecting cute critters, upgrading your skyship, and restoring ecosystems on the new Life Sapling islands.
Healing ecosystems has been reworked into a more engaging experience which involves bolstering the islands’ flora, fauna, and funga in a series of new minigames.
Discover the wondrous Life Trees and gain access to their insight basins, which are key to tech tree progression. Sail the skies and find Knowledge Stones, Corruption Anomalies, and Lost Anchors to advance within their respective tech trees: knowledge, research, and sailing.
Unlock a network of wind lanes to travel swiftly between island clusters, wind at your back. Use Lost Atlas’ to find castaway islands and uncover their secrets. Combat two new strains of corruption, the Sportox and Flogade, with new weapon tiers: Windstone and Serrated Bone.
There is an abundance of content to discover in Bloom & Blight. Overall, the update brings a more satisfying sense of purpose to Aloft, where exploration, progress, and actions flow together.
Aloft launched into Early Access in January 2025 and since then, the team has already released three major updates, Critters & Wonders, Puzzles & Pyrologics, and today, Bloom & Blight. The team will continue expanding and improving the game on the road towards launch.
